Right lots of people like to have the fancy gizmos in their car and half of us have not got the bottle to try and cut the dashboard up, so I thought I would have a go at it and give you guys the details the best way that I can.

Please note that I have not given information on how to wire it up as people will have different screens and ways of powering it. If you want a quick fix on how to power the PS2 then I would suggest that the Joytech In Car Adaptor is the easiest way. These are available from any good video game retailer and are about £30. If you want one of these and are having problems getting one then PM me and I will see what I can do for you.

So here goes

Tools needed

1. Phillips screwdriver (preferably one with a magnetic tip)
2. A Hacksaw
3. A flat file or sandpaper (to smooth the edges off)
4. A small flat headed screwdriver

First of all you are going to have to remove the glove compartment it is held in with 8 screws (located on the picture with the pink circles and arrows) and are easy enough to remove with a Phillips screwdriver. Ensure that when you remove the screws from inside the vents that the
vents are closed, otherwise you will lose the screws if you drop them down the vent. Next is to remove the rechargeable torch (located on the picture with the green circles), again easy enough take the torch out and the black unit it sits in has a little bit jutting out at the side push this in (using the small flat headed screwdriver) and push the holder back. Now for the glove compartment light (again located with the green circles), disconnect the cable from it and located on the light cover will be a small groove to put the screwdriver in and pop it out. The glove compartment should now be removed.

Now to start the destruction. You will notice on the back of the glove compartment there is an area that sinks down at the back,

this bit has to be removed before the PS2 will sit in there, so get out your hacksaw and start cutting. If you take a look at the

picture below you will see the best place to cut remember to take your time about it so you get a nice straight line (not like mine)

Its time to cut the second line now so again get your hacksaw and cut yourself another nice straight line. As you can see in the

pic below is the perfect place. You will have to take the minimum amount of plastic off so that the glove compartment will still

keep its structure and not collapse on you.

After you have finished cutting you should have something that looks like this

One more bit of cutting left. If you are familiar with the PS2 then you will know that there is a fan on the rear, this fan is

important for the PS2 to function properly and obviously if its blocked then it will overheat and die. So with this in mind you

have to cut a gap for the to be able to circulate air (see the pic below). With this done you are nearly finished.

Now slot the PS2 in place, checking that the fan has plenty of clearance (see pic below) and that the door on the front shuts.

With the PS2 in place take the glove compartment to the car and check to make sure that the back of it isnt going to hit the

alarm junction box. If all is OK (which it should be) then feed the necessary cables into the back of the glove compartment and

start to put the screws back in.

You should now be finished just sit back and enjoy the fruits of your
labour. As stated at the top I wont be including wiring instructions.

The finished article should look something like this.
